About Us

St John the Baptist Church is in the parish church in Bishops Tawton and is a member of the Church of England and Diocese of Exeter.

We offer a warm welcome for everyone to grow in faith, be connected and to respect and serve others. We try to help each other have a living Christian faith in our everyday lives.

St John the Baptist Church Bishops Tawton is partnered with St John’s Church Newport and we have a shared ministry team. We are also part of a wider community of Anglican churches in the Barnstaple Mission Community and we enjoy working ecumenically whenever we can.

Our Vision

The stated vision for Bishops Tawton Church is:

“To meet with Jesus.

To live in joyful fellowship.

To walk in God’s way,
